It's innovative motion controls are known through-out the video gaming community as one of the best ways to improve a series with new technology. F.Y.I.: you can now get every single game in the trilogy with motion control, but if you intend to buy it you'd better hurry up, it's gone out of print. Any way, it also has the most intuitive exploring tool. You can access your ship at any time, and fly to another planet. Each planet has a leviathan at the core. The leviathans have been infected by the unstable element of phazon. Samus must travel to each planet and destroy the leviatans. The leviathans all have protective shields which must be disabled in order for samus to attack. To make things more complicated Samus must destroy her doppleganger, Dark Samus. Even making things more complicated Dark Samus has infected Samus and three other hunters with phazon. Samus must go from planet - planet and destroy not only the leviathans, but her fellow hunters.
This game is the best game EVER! 100/10.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The Star Wars franchise is in all likely-hood the most well known story in the world, however, little about the nineteen year period of darkness between episodes III, and IV is known. The force unleashed quite nicely wraps up all the questions about the relationship between the Emperor and Vader. According to the game Darth Vader takes up a secret apprentice. His name, or rather, code name, for he was not allowed a permanent identity, is Star killer. Star killer is requisitioned to hunt down and exterminate Jedi. Also he was not allowed to let any witnesses live, so he will destroy anyone who sees him, imperial, or not. This game shows the story of a young Sith, who learns the path to the righteous way of doing things. It can be cried fowl that the game was too easy, but I think it's fair to Star Wars fans with poor motor skills.

Overall I think it was a fun game, and it's worth the 19.99 to buy it. 8.5 out of ten.

The Video Gamers' Place New Official Website, But Please Pardon Our Dust.

Today I, Sushi Dude, am going to open The Video Gamers' Place New Official Website! Today I will review an MMORPG, called Adventure Quest Worlds. It's your standard Mages, Soldiers, and regals fantasy game, but it's one of the most addictive games I've played as of yet. You have to run around destroying Zombies, and saving dragons from princesses (ironic twist, da da da). Of course you have help. All over worlds you'll see random characters with exclamation icons on their heads. Run up and click the icon to get a clue about where to go next. The quests mainly consist of large adventures broken up into small tasks such as: Kill X amount of enemy X, and I'll give you a prize, or a tub of gold, or a key, or something. When signing up you have several choices in what character you want to be. I chose to be a Madge. If you become a member and sign up for twenty dollars for 3 months you can get an upgrade to each character. Overall, it's a good game and I think Sushi will agree when I say that it deserves a solid score.

I give this game an 8.7 out of 10

If you liked this review please contact us about our website, and our news letter, at F.Frey6@gmail.com, or, Sushidudeteam@gmail.com thank you for your support.

Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo is one of those games that just feels like it was meant to test your faith in other games. I know it tested mine in Metroid. The only thing I can say is, wow. This was one of those games that just felt right. It can be said that it doesn't warrant repeated play, but that's only because the thrill of playing it for the first time is like some sort of wonderful drug.
The story thus far: The year is 2552, and genetic engineering is now completely in the grasp of man. One project of this science is to build an army of super men called the Spartans. This project is important because of a resistance that threatens the existence of man. The planet has become over-populated, this has forced some to colonize space. A colony that was on the very boundary of the known universe had lost contact with Earth. An armada of soldiers was sent to find the force that had possibly destroyed the colony, 32 gleaming space battle ships. Only one ship returned with reports of a giant reptilian alien force, called the Covenant, that was deeply religious. They believed humans to be the demon scum of the universe. But more on them later. This is why the SPARTAN II project is imperative to man's survival. Unfortunately, there was a failure with the SPARTAN armor. It caused the slightest spasm to jerk the SPARTAN about spasmodically. It killed all except for a genetically flawed SPARTAN, SPARTAN 117, Master Chief. His body was so dense that he weighed 1,000 lbs. at 7' high, and no fat percentage. This is the character you play as.

The game is named after a weapon the covenants ancestors built to destroy the Flood, an insect species that will feed off of anything living. Halo was built with a computer that was designed to work out a way of destroying them. It settled on the answer that if they cut off it's food supply that they would die out. It poised itself to wipe the galaxy clean of all life. The covenant shut it down and kept it a secret. It was rediscovered by the humans who thought it could be reprogrammed to just wipe out the Covenant. They were incorrect however, and didn't know it. As the player it's your job to stop them.

9.9 out of 10. Go to superflashbros.net to play the game. In this game you are a whistle knight (they have heads shaped like whistles). Your kingdom was attacked by agents of darkness, who are trying to recover the greatest weapon of all time, which the whistle knights invented, It is called the arrow of time. It has the power to delete enemies from time and space. This was the ambition of the dark agents. The whistle knights fought valliantly to protect the world, but in the end only two of them survived. The first was the character you will play in this game, Peep, the other was an outcast from the whistle fortress (Toot). As you go through the game he fights you and tries to gain the arrow of time, on top of the dark agents also wanting it. When you defeat him the final time Peep will pull out a grapple, and pull up Toot possibly setting the game up for a sequel.
The controls in this game were not the best, you will hold down the mouse key until the arrow is pulled all the way back. You then release. An anoyance with this is that if your mouse goes of the screen it will start to lag.
Over all this wasn't a very bad game, and I really hope to see a sequel of it some time soon. 8.5 out of 10.

Metroid Prime Trilogy

When I first bought the Metroid Prime Trilogy I was kinda' skeptical. I didn't want to start the original Metroid Prime all over again, I however didn't get very far in Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. So I started out on that. I got farther on that with the enhanced controls in 2 days, than I got in months on the cube. I have a high opinion of this game and I highly recommend it for anyone who has ever played, and enjoyed a metroid game. I will only explain Prime 2, instead of that and Prime 3 for the sake of another good review. Samus is comissioned to a uncharted planet where a platoon of GF (Galactic Federation) soldiers mysteriously dissapeared. There she encounters a species called the luminoth, there is one last sentinel luminoth of Aether. He told her how a meteor struck Aether spliting it into 2 demensions of light and dark. While the luminoth were richeous their demensional opposites were completely evil. They were called the ing. They had a great war. The luminoth crossed into their demension via portals. The first that were sent over came back coughing and hacking for air, as the atmosphere of Dark Aether was so evil, anything less than ing status would shrivel up and die. They established beacons of light in the dark world and the war went on. The ing captured 80% of Aethers planetary energy. Samus must get it back
I give this game a 8.9 out of 10

Metroid II The Return of Samus

What can I say? I have a taste for metroid. Metroid II the return of samus wasn't as a smash hit as the original metroid, but it was still a pretty fine game. It takes place after metroid prime 3: corruption. Samus had been comissioned to SR388 to decimate every last metroid on the stinkin' planet! She learned that as metroids developed they grew into larger, and more deadly, creatures. The metroid stages are as such: Hatchling, Metroid, Gamma Metroid, Zeta Metroid, Omega Metroid, and Queen Metroid. Like bees there can only be one Queen/colony. Therfore, she was of course the final boss. After defeating her you must, of course, escape the area in a limited time. After that Samus found a surviving egg that her scanners overlooked. The hatchling popped out and thought that Samus was it's Mother. She took it back to a research colony. That is where super metroid picks up! In the original metroid prime she encounters hunter metroids which can be approximated to Zeta Metroids. -Fredo

Please contact us at F.Frey6@gmail.com, or Sushidudeteam@gmail.com this game is a 7 out of 10

Retro Special: STAR CRAFT & STAR CRAFT 64

This is Fredo, and Sushi Dude, and for the first time ever here on the Video Gamers Place we are doing a partner review. By typing it up on Google Docs together!! Thanks Sushi, but we might get sued for using the software name. You are welcome Fredo! Today we will be reviewing StarCraft and StarCraft 64. I'm gonna hand it over to Sushi for The Original Star Craft.

Well the old favorite StarCraft/StarCraft Brood War(an expansion) was made 12 years ago by
Blizzard Entertainment. And yes those were the same people that brought World of War craft(WoW), WarCraft, Diablo, and many other popular computer games. In Star Craft you move, build, and destroy different units to reach the mission objectives(ex: destroy the Zerg bases) . There are three races in Star Craft; the Protoss(click here to view more about this race), the Zerg(click here to view more about this race), and the Terran(humans)(click here to view more about this race). Each race has its own different units, buildings, etc. The more you play the more you learn about each races history. If you don't want to play the campaign maps you can go on Battle.Net and play custom games that you and other people made in the map editor. But for a user not good at computers making and putting a map on Battle.Net can be very hard. But some problems with battle are that depending on your Internet some people can't join your games. Although Battle.Net has its little glitches, Star Craft, it is still one of the greatest computer games ever made. I give this game 9.3 out of 10.

Now lets see what Fredo will has to say about Star Craft 64...

There is a horrible, and atrocious version of Star Craft resides in the Nintendo 64 library. Star Craft 64 was notorious for it's terrible controls. Trying to highlight your characters is a nightmare. Also, in order to attack you must use the control pad with the 4 yellow keys this is how you move and attack. The enemie AI is completely laughable, even for a 64 game. also you might spend an hour or two just trying to fuel up, or take down a control tower. I might recommend this to some one who liked StarCraft but would like to see some sci-fi from Blizzard entertainment, but as a pc game. Or a die hard N64 fan looking for a sci-fi title.
I give this Game a 5.4 out of 10.

I, Sushi Dude, just want to show you how much better StarCraft is than StarCraft 64 in graph form:

As you can see, if you are thinking about getting a StarCraft game get StarCraft for the computer not Nintendo 64.

Well that is all for now, next week Sushi Dude will be doing a review Spore so check back soon!

-Fredo
Game & Pwn On!! -Sushi Dude

p.s. Why, because I am evil. Today I will review a new, free, app for the Nintendo DSi. Flipnote Studio, this app allows you to make animations, and upload them to the web(they call the web part: Flipnote Hatena). From there you can view, comment, star(shows how much you like it), download, and more. It is much like YouTube but for the Nintendo DSi. There is one problem with Flipnote Hatena, if you are under 13 years old it is a very annoying sign up that requires you to get a parent to sign a document and than fax or mail it back & when it gets to them it will take up two 10 days before they will activate your account. When you are offline you can edit and make flip notes with an assortment of tools, you can even add sound! When you are done you can save it to a SD card or the DSi system. If you do have an SD card you can save your flipnotes as .gif files(a picture file)! And that means I can show you one on this blog!

That took me one minute to make, these flipnotes can be very complex and can take days(or weeks) to make. If you do not have a DSi you can still view flipnotes at: http://flipnote.hatena.com/ .

I would say this is the best app on the DSi Store. My rating out of ten, 9.5.

For more info on Flipnote Studio/Hatena: Click Here.

-Sushi Dude

Metroid Prime

Samus has been comissioned to investigate space pirate activity on a nomad space pirate frigate that is currently orbitting the planet Tallon IV. There she learns that the pirates are utilizing a chemical called phazon. Phazon is highly toxic, and has astounding nuclear capability. A small creature called a space parasite is harmless when on its own and only dangerous in large swarms, how ever when it was introduced to phazon it mutated into a giant monster which Samus had to destroy. Its body got caught in the many systems of the ship. It then crashed into Tallon IV, and the phazon it leaked hyper exellerated evolotion. Beings that used to live at the planets core were suddenly able to adapt to the climate in the polar ice caps. As a scan indicated the planet will excelerate past the point of habitation and become a barren dessert in exactly 25 years. Samus had to collect artifacts from the chozo, an ancient bird-like race of people who raised Samus after her parents were killed by a space pirate invasion (see onemanga.com) after collecting the 12 chozo artifacts she went into the impact crater where a metroid, that had been super evolved by phazon, was planning to mutate the whole planet. After the battle the Metroid prime (which was its name) stole Samus' phazon portion of the power suit. If you got 100% you saw that the metroid prime had filled the suit with phazon and then put itself in, becoming Dark Samus (see Metroid Prime 2 Echoes).
A: shoot
B: jump
BB: double jump
X: morph ball (in morph ball form A:bomb Y: super bomb)
Analog stick: walk
Veiw : first person
While it is surmised that Metroid Prime is a first person shooter it is actually classified as a first person action adventure game.
I would give this game a solid 10 out of 10
(first 10 out of 10!)

please contact us at F.Frey6@gmail.com or sushidudeteam@gmail.com thankyou for your support

Futurama the game

Futurama the game may not be recorded in history for it's gamelpay, graphics or completely ludicrous story line, but it is yet somehow addictive. It's addictive game play makes up for its rough graphics. in the game you are too assume one position on the battle field. You can be a seperatist, a republican, an empyreal, or a rebel. You can hunt down your enemy using a detailed map, that shows: Yourself, enemies, colleagues, and enemy weapons. you can jump into an ATAT, or a walkers, or any sort of enemy transport. You use the analog stick to move around and the shoulder buttons to shoot blasters and jump. Through out the game there is only one thing that can effect game play, and it's called Space Battles. while in outer space you battle your enemy by jumping into one-man cruisers and shooting the living crap out of certain key components on the exterior of your enemy's ship.

Overall I give this game a 8.9 out of a possible 10, please keep reading -Fredo ( We will now be writing reviews on a weekly basis!!!)

Kirby Squeak Squad

Now I'm not really a big Kirby fan but I think I can say with confidence that out of all the Kirby games I've played so far this was the best! Now it didn't have a very good plot. It goes like this: while in the middle of a picnic Kirby is suddenly robbed by a notorious gang of mice called The Squeak Squad ( hence the title). Too get back his lunch he has to take down THOUSANDS of enemies that range from the harmless little red puffball with small dark Eyes, to COLLOSAL red whales that breath fire. The whole world is divided into seven sections, you can even unlock an eighth section that contains any sort of power up imaginable. Each section has a tricky boss that you half to defeat. I don't see why Kirby would go through all this trouble just to get a strawberry shortcake but of course I put up with it.

Overall I give this game an 8.9 out of a possible 10 thank you and please keep reading goodnight. -Fredo

Retro Special: Wario Land II

My loyal fans, no matter what tempts you please God PLEASE if you buy one of the gameboy games on sale at game stop what ever you do, do not buy Wario land II. it is so hard I couldn't get past the second level(O.K. so I'm no wiz at video games but you should talk). It starts out when Wario gets up in the morning. He was apparently woken by his enemies in the game. Any who, when he gets up there is a multitude of enemies he must face to shut off his alarm clock. I mean what the hell was that? It took him 5 minutes to get off his butt and turn off his alarm clock? And the buzzing in your ear for the entire time wasn't really helping! In the first seen you see Princess peach next to a letter she wrote inviting Mario over to the castle, and of course Luigi, and Wario tag along. they go inside but you don't see them leave. You also discover Yoshi is sitting on the roof. I can't quite remember but I think he falls off and a lakitu finds him ( a lakitu is one of those turtles that sit on a cloud.) He is holding a camera. When he wakes up Yoshi he starts to film him. over the courses you can unlock Mario, Luigi, and Wario. As Yoshi you can either eat enemies or stomp on them. Remember if you eat a bob-omb it will explode in your mouth. If you keep enemies in your mouth long enough there bodies will disappear inside you, and it will stiff you on coins.

As Mario you can punch or stomp on enemies. Also in certain levels you will encounter certain enemies where they will snag your hat. If you loose your hat you will be more vulnerable to enemies. If you hold down R and jump, you will do a super jump

With Luigi you can do exactly the same as Mario, except when you do a super jump you will twirl around until you touch the ground. And yes you are still vulnerable to the enemies that grab your hat.

As Wario you can't jump very high. He is overall the worst character in the game. He was slow, could barley jump, and looked as dumb as rocks. The only thing he's good for is breaking black bricks.

Overall I would give this game a 8.9 out of a possible 10. -Fredo

Metroid Fusion

Now I know I've been slacking on these reviews lately but for future reference I don't write reviews in the Summer. Next I'll be reviewing Metroid Fusion . The one thing that I really hated was that the enemies are just to powerful. The thing is that they just take away too many units of energy. One bat-like enemy can take away 90 units of energy with one touch! If your a big Metroid fan like me then you'll know that that's a lot of damage. Now for the I give it a C+ not to good. The plot is Samus is on a biological research mission, there she is infected with a parasite called the X. During surgery they remove big chunks of her Varia Suit and is given a minimal chance of survival. The only vaccine the medics can give her is a metroid cell. It kills the X inside her and fuses with her genetic makeup making her part metroid. She can now absorb the X and turn them into energy, missles, and of course Morph Ball Super bombs. The X can also mimic its host. So the X mimics the form of Samus! Creating a copy of her. I don't want to spoil the hole thing for you so I'll just rate it.

Overall I give this game a 7.5 out of a possible 10. I'll be writing game reviews. First I'll be reviewing The Simpsons Game. I'm a really big Simpsons fan so I was pretty excited when I got it. But it lacked the sense of comedy that made America fall in love with The Simpsons. All the humor was mainly about video game clichés. At the end ( If you don't want me to spoil the ending just skip to the part where I rate the game) they are confronting God and they ask him If he was a video game character. He says no, and then we zoom out, and there's Ralph sitting there playing an X-box 360, and guess what game he's playing? You got it! The Simpsons Game!

Overall I Give this game a 7.5 out of a possible 10. -Fredo

This New Blog

Hi, I am Sushi Dude, the webmaster of many websites, forums & blogs.
